Shopping

We just got back from grocery shopping. We didn't spend all of our grocery shopping money but we got a lot more stuff than we usually get. How did we do that you ask? We went to Super Walmart. I know, I know. Walmart is anti-union (I am pro-union)and bad for the economy and besides have you looked at Walmart shoppers ever? All stupid people go to Walmart (you don't HAVE to be stupid to go there, but if you are it's a requirement). I know all the reasons not to go but unfortunately we don't have the luxury of being able to boycott a store that saves us so much money. We have made a lot of sacrifices to make it possible for me to stay home with Jack instead of putting him in daycare. I truly hope that someday we will be able to back our beliefs a little better.

While I'm ranting I will bring up gasoline companies. I heard on the news that they are reporting record profits from the past quarter. I understand (as my brother pointed out) that part of this was in response to the hurricanes since everyone was filling up more often in order to get out of the hurricane areas. But I'm tired of hearing all the excuses of why they need to raise the prices. Anything at all happens and gas goes up. We're going to war with Iraq? (how much oil do we receive from Iraq?) Better hike the gas prices. Charlize Theron gets a hangnail? let's raise gas prices. And now the reports of record profits? Give me a break, the only reason the gas prices go up is because the companies know we have no choice other than to pay the price they name.
