I can't believe Christmas is tomorrow. My DH was trying to convince me last Sunday that it would be a good idea to open presents then. That way it would make tomorrow "more special, and all about Jack". It didn't work. We are opening one present tonight because that's the tradition in our families-I have a feeling that was to appease little ones who just couldn't wait, in our house it's to appease a big one that can't wait. I love my DH, he's so excited about Christmas, and other things too... he's very happy with anything he gets and it doesn't take much of a "surprise" to make him happy. Once I got him a giftcard to a local donut shop, it wasn't for any special occasion or anything, just because, he was so happy. It's nice that he's easy to please like that.
Jack is just excited to have a tree in the living room. He doesn't have a clue of what's to come. We haven't put any presents out, we didn't want him pulling a "Steve" and opening ALL the presents, even those that aren't his.
YaYa (aka Gramma) is in Texas visiting Steve. I'm glad that she has the chance to spend some time with Jack's cousins. Still it's a little strange her not being here. It's been 3 years since we spent Christmas with her, a little odd since she lives down the street practically. But never fear, she left us her little neurotic dog, Phoebe. Phoebe is a good girl, very sweet but she doesn't like our big dog Grace, I imagine she's a little intimidated. She keeps getting after Grace and all Grace is doing is shoving her nose up Phoebe's butt. I think they'll adjust and become good friends by the time Phoebe leaves us.
Jack loves having another dog here. He also thinks its funny when they "fight". Well I better get going, Jack will be getting up any moment and we have a busy day of cookie baking today.
Merry Christmas!
