The great outdoors

We went camping this weekend at a place just the other side of the mountain pass. What an adventure. It’s certainly interesting to camp with a two year old. He had fun running around but he got into EVERYTHING! And the poor guy didn’t feel too well either which didn’t help the situation. He’s got a lingering cough and it seems to have lingered for 3 weeks at least. Last night, in the tent, he coughed so hard he threw up. All over the air mattress, all over his clothes and all over me. Poor little guy.

Let me start off by explaining that although we packed very carefully; it’s been years since we’ve been camping. And we forgot things. We forgot to bring a blanket. It was cold too. The weather report said it was going to be high 80s and since we have limited room we packed simply. No coats or jackets. I packed some long sleeve shirts for Jack which I never expected him to use. He used them and it was one of those he vomited on. Previously he had gunked up the other one so bad it wasn’t usable. Thank goodness other people planned better and lent us blankets. Of course Jacky threw up on one of those. What a mess. I was ready to leave immediately. It was 1am and I was ready to pack up and move out. Of course by the time we packed up and drove home it would have been morning. And since we had to clean him and the tent up anyway we just stayed. I kind of thought the coughing would be better if he could sleep in a reclined position (like the carseat) but I think we made the right decision.

We ended up have to switch back and forth driving on the way home and it’s only 2 ½ hours away.

Well we’re home now and I’m doing laundry. Of course I accidentally washed my DH’s cell phone so now I’m online trying to buy another one. Of course I can’t remember my password so I’m trying to reset it. Of course I can’t remember the answer to my security question so I’m having trouble. AAAARGH!!!

I did it! Yeah! I’ve only been online for 45 minutes!

So anyhow, my DH and his friends went rafting down the river. I’m kind of glad I didn’t, they got pretty durn beat up. Not to mention how cold it was. And I can’t imagine it was any warmer on the water. This morning I spent all morning holding Jack who was wrapped up in a towel (not because he was wet or anything, just cause he was cold.) Yesterday was a little better.

Well I finally got all logged in to the website to buy a new phone. Wish me luck!
