A semi-monthly post

Things have been hectic around here. We went camping for Memorial Day weekend with a bunch of people who either don’t have kids or didn’t bring them with them because then they might have to be responsible and not drink so much. It was an annual trip that a bunch of the guys at DH’s work take. It was in Cliffdell, WA which is about 3.5-4 hours away. It was very interesting to take a four year old and twin nine month olds camping. I can honestly say I’ll never forget the girls’ first camping trip.

Jack and daddy went up first on Friday and the girls and I followed on Saturday morning. One of DH’s friends (who was also driving up on Saturday) called me to see which route I was taking and told me to keep in contact with him so he would know where I was and that I was safe. I thought that was very nice.

Otherwise it’s been work, work, and more work. DH had a Taekwondo tournament a month ago or so and took Silver in Sparring and Gold in Forms. I was very proud of him. Jack goes almost every time DH goes and he has picked up some moves just from watching. We figure we’ll enroll him when he’s five. They don’t mind him being there and he even got in trouble one day while I happened to be there and had to go into the Master’s office and do push ups. I had to turn around and hide my face because I was cracking up. It was so funny to see him in their doing four year old style push ups because he got in trouble. I was impressed that the Master made him do the same thing everyone else has to do if they do something wrong. Jack loves going and he loves doing the moves but we have to remind him weekly that he can only do taekwondo on daddy.

Anyway, here are a few cute things I want to record for posterity. And a couple of pictures too.

Me: Want your jean jacket today.
Jack: It’s not a jean jacket Mom! It’s my “barber jean” jacket
Moral: Don’t watch so much Reba

Daddy: What are you doing in the van???
Jack: Oh, sorry Daddy. I thought it was time to play in the van.

Jack always asks to bless “Yaya’s heart.” at prayer time. He also asks God to bless everyone’s legs.

Jack picked out flowers and a card for my birthday, it was all his idea. He told daddy that they “HAD” to get flowers and a card for his mama. Then we had to take them to the babysitter’s house to show them before I could take them to work. What a sweetie.
