What would you do if...

The recent disaster in the south reminds me of a conversation we had in a class I once took. We were asked what we would do if we knew definatively that the our was going to be hit with a nuclear bomb and we were given a 1/2 hours notice-not enough to get to safety. Now this wasn't a discussion about how we were sure that the bomb was going to hit and whether there would be more time than 1/2 an hour or if there's a bomb that can destroy such a vast area that we couldn't outrun it if we tried. It was just a question of what we would do if we knew that death was imminent for all of our families and friends and ourselves. Would we pray? Would we call our mom's? Hold our children? I know that the answers I gave back then are a lot different than the ones I would give today. Back then I was single and unattached with no children. The thought is unimaginable now that I have a small child. I think I would take my husband and son to my mom's house which is about a 1 minute drive from me and pray while I told them how much I love them. It reminds me a little of the 9/11 cell phone calls to loved ones from people on the ill-fated planes.
I wonder what other people would do.

I'd do everything you mentioned, whilst driving into the hills somewhere!

I would want to spend my last minutes with my family. My son, husband, mother, they are all here. I would like us to sit in front a fire in the living room with something to eat and talk about the good things in our lives. Funny events, funny things we did, significant things we did. I would want my last minutes to be peaceful and remembrance of how wonderful it was. And a prayer thrown in.
