My Son, the Comedian

I babysat a little girl last week who is almost 3 years old. I told the both of them to "shhhh" while I was on the phone. The little girl put her finger in front of her mouth and told Jack to "shhhh". She did this the entire time I was on the phone. Jack put his finger in front of his mouth and up his nose, stuck his tongue out and said "plllttth". Now anytime we tell him to "shhhh" he does this.

Today at church Jack sang with the choir, which would have been fine but he sang during pauses. One chorister was shaking because she was trying not to laugh. When he went up for the children's sermon he sat and gently stroked our pastor's foot. She didn't seem to notice. When it came time to say a prayer he got up and started to run away but she caught him and made him sit with her. He looked displeased but sat quietly because he didn't want to go to hell I guess. When we were singing a hymn Jack stuck the tip of his tongue out and tried to kiss his daddy and then cracked up about it. It seems that our church has turned into his own personal comedy club. What can we do though? He's cute.

It's always good for a kid to enjoy going to church.
