That's what they call the girls. I think it sounds like some type of goldfish.
The babies are doing very well. They are off the bili lights and today they should be out of the isolettes (incubators) and should be off of their IVs. Now all they have to do is learn to eat (not a big problem for members of this family) and gain a little weight (also not a problem in our cases).
I got to hold them both at the same time last night. We've been saying that they look different but when I held them together I can't see any differences. They may be identical after all. I know that I'm going to have to do something to tell them apart because I got confused last night and they were wearing different clothes. I always wondered how parents could tell their twins apart at first. I wondered if they just used random names until the kids got old enough to tell you themselves who they are. My old neighbor who had identical twin boys said that they painted the toenails of one of the babies in order to tell hers apart. If one has a birth mark or something then it's easy but neither of ours has any marks at all. The second born had bruises all over her back at birth but those have gone away. The first born was quite a kicker in utero. It looks like they've traded places now. The second born is now the wild woman.
Jacky is doing really well too. He's had some behavior issues because of the changes going on but he's really doing well overall. He loves his babies and he likes to kiss them on their foreheads and hold their little hands. He hasn't been able to hold them yet but as soon as they get home he will. He's a big helper already. He loves the breast pump and I'm not allowed to turn it on myself, I have to let him do it. He also likes to put the milk away in the fridge too. I'm sure he'd have a fit to know that I'm going to pump while he's at school today. I don't think he'll want to help as much once the babies are home a little while but we'll see. I'm worried about giving him enough one on one attention after they come home. My DH will be home the first few days and I'll have extra time but after he goes to work again I don't know how I'll handle it all. I'll just have to figure something out because he needs that extra attention.
Anyway, I'm off to nap.

Funny, people always say moms can tell who is who when they have twins just by gut feelings! Have as much rest as you can Cassie..you might not be able to get a lot later! Wish I can kiss them both..
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
