Tummy Trouble

I have been having a heck of a time feeding the girls. They push the bottle out of their mouths and cry and scream and spit up but once I get them fed they sleep ok so I didn't know what the trouble was. I put the question to the twins message board hoping that someone had experienced this trouble (not for their babies sake but for mine) and someone responded that it sounded like reflux. I called the doctor first thing this morning and they asked if I could be there in 45 minutes. I said I would find a way. Meanwhile I had only fed Erica completely and given Megan two ounces (that took FOREVER!), I had not showered and none of the kids were dressed. It takes 30 minutes to get there so I had 15 minutes to throw us together. I asked Jack if he wanted to go to Yaya's house and he said no because he was watching Sheerluck Holmes (Veggie Tales) again. I asked him if he wanted to go in his underwear (that's all he was wearing) and not put clothes on. He was up running around like a crazy man at the prospect of that. So I threw some bunting gowns on the girls and tossed them (not literally) into their carseats and took a quick shower and out the door we were in less than 15 minutes. I had to come back home though because I didn't have my wallet (DH had put it in the buffet drawer- why oh why?????) and then I was off to the doctor in the middle of a horrible storm (did you see about it on the news?).

The doctor said they have reflux and prescribed Zantac. They did so well when I gave it to them about 1/2 hour before they ate today. The only problem is they can only have it 3 times a day so I didn't give Megan hers at the last feed even though I could have technically but I was afraid it was kind of cutting it close since I think they mean more like every 8 hours and it was more like every 4-5 today. I finally gave it halfway through the feeding because she was having such a hard time but I think she spit it up and it didn't have any affect. I hope it will build up in their systems or something because it did really help. I just would like every feeding to go so well, not just three a day.

Well I'm tired, I'm outta here for tonight.

Oh thank God they are okay. I've heard about reflux but never experienced it.
